General Information and Facilities

When was the hotel built/opened?

Pelican Grand was built in 2004 and was renovated in 2019.

Where is Pelican Grand located?

Pelican Grand is located directly on the tranquil shores of South Florida’s iconic coastline in the City of Fort Lauderdale Beach. Fort Lauderdale is north of Miami and south of Pompano Beach. The hotel is located on North Ocean Boulevard and a 10-minute walk to restaurants and shopping. See below for distances and typical driving times to popular area destinations.

Do you have a beach? What are the hours for beach service?

Yes, we are an ocean front property with private beach access. As per the City of Fort Lauderdale, beach chair seating begins at 9:00am and chairs must be removed one hour before sunset. Pool chairs are available at 8:00am. Chairs are available on a first come first serve basis and are for registered guests only.

Do you charge a resort fee?

Yes, there is a $50 plus tax per day, per room resort amenities fee which includes:

  • Concierge and Business Center services

  • Assorted beach games & activities
  • Lounge chairs, towels, and umbrellas for Pool & Beach

Do you have a fitness center? What are the hours and what equipment does it have?

Our fitness center is located on the ground floor and is open every day 9:00am – 6:00pm. The fitness center consists of State-of-the-art Matrix fitness equipment: elliptical trainers, treadmills, rower, functional trainer, resistance bands, yoga balls, yoga mats, fit mats, dumbbells & heavy weights.

Do you have a pool and hot tub? What are the hours? Is there a lifeguard? Can I bring other guests to the pool and beach?

We have an outdoor zero entry pool that overlooks the stunning Atlantic Ocean. Based on our facility and the Broward County Health Department the operating hours are from Dawn to Dusk. The pool and private beach are for the exclusive use of registered hotel guests only. There is no lifeguard at the pool or beach.

We also have Fort Lauderdale’s only lazy river. Floats are provided.

We do not have a hot tub on the property.

Can I bring my own food and alcoholic beverages that I purchased from outside to the pool and beach?

No, you cannot. The pool and beach are licensed by the City of Fort Lauderdale and the State of Florida, and those licenses do not permit the consumption of food or alcoholic beverages acquired elsewhere.

Do you have high-speed internet /Wifi and a business center?

Wireless high-speed internet is available in your guest room and through the public areas of the hotel. Access to our business center services is included in the daily resort fee.

Do you have a spa, sauna, steam room, or hot tub?

We do have a rooftop boutique spa, PURE Spa, that focuses on Swedish wellness techniques using natural Maria Akerberg products in all treatments. We suggest reserving in advance to experience the calming tranquility of a spa experience overlooking the ocean.

A few words about sunrise and sunset.

Pelican Grand is located on Florida’s east coast and enjoys brilliant sunrises. We recommend rising early to enjoy most of the sun and day. Sunsets occur on Florida’s west coast and are not visible from the greater Fort Lauderdale area. During the winter season with the sun being lower in the sky, the beach and pool are shaded by early afternoon.

Can I do laundry on property?

We do not offer laundry services on the property. Our front desk team will be happy to assist with local laundry nearby.

What should I do if I lost or forgot something in my room?

Please contact our Guest Services for assistance at [email protected].

The guest should report lost or forgotten items via Chargerback.com.

Does the hotel have a code of conduct?

To provide our guests with the best experience, Pelican Grand strives to foster mutual respect between all of its employees and guests. Harassing behavior or violence of any kind, physical or verbal, will not be tolerated. Please be respectful of other guests, our fabulous team, and enjoy your time in Fort Lauderdale Beach.

Pets

Are pets allowed?

No, we only allow service animals.

Are pets allowed in the restaurant, pool, and hotel beach?

Service animals of registered guests only.

Reservations

What is check in/check out time?

Check-in begins at 4:00pm and check out is at 11:00am.

Do you have accessible rooms?

Yes, we have accessible rooms.

Does the hotel provide early check-ins and late check-outs?

Yes, Pelican Grand can offer early check-in based on availability, which can vary on a daily basis. If the hotel is offering guaranteed early check-ins an additional fee will apply. Late check-outs may also be offered, but only based on the arrival and departure pattern on each day; an additional fee will apply.

What is the minimum age requirement to check into the room?

Guests are required to be over the age of 21 to check in.

Does the hotel provide rollaways or cribs?

Rollaway beds are available on a first come, first served basis. If available, they are $30 per night and can only be placed in suites, not in City view or Ocean view rooms due to limited floor area and ease of access in case of emergency.

Cribs are available and provided free of charge upon request and based on availability.

Do you allow smoking on property?

We are completely nonsmoking property. We do not permit smoking or vaping in our rooms, public areas, restaurant, lounge, or pool.

Do you have connecting rooms?

We do offer connecting rooms on site, to inquire please contact reservations at [email protected]. The connecting rooms must be pre-paid and are non-refundable.

What is the cancelation policy?

Should you need to cancel a reservation please contact us by 15:00EST 72 hours prior to your arrival date, otherwise one-night room and taxes will be applied to the credit card provided at the time of booking.

Third party reservations

If you made your reservation with a third-party service other than booking directly on the hotel website or with our reservations team, you must make any changes or cancelations with the party where you made the reservation.

What is required for check-in to the hotel?

A valid Government issued identification or a valid passport, plus a valid credit card capable of being authorized for the full amount of your room, tax, and resort fee, plus an additional $150 per night to cover incidental charges. We are a cashless hotel.

Transportation

Do you offer shuttle service to/from the airport?

We do not offer a complimentary shuttle service, but you may contact our Concierge for private transportation or rental car agencies. Additional fees will apply. Taxis and Uber services are available at the airport and from the hotel.

Do you offer parking?

We offer valet parking only with unlimited in and out privileges for $48/night plus taxes per car.

OCEAN2000 Restaurant

Is room service available 24 hours?

Room service is available daily from 7:00am to 10:00pm.

We also have the beachside O2K Lounge open daily 11:00am – 11:00pm, Friday and Saturday open until 12:00am. Happy Hour is every Monday through Thursday between 4:00pm – 7:00pm.

We have live music on our iconic veranda every Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 6:00pm – 9:00pm and Sunday from 12:00pm – 3:00pm.

What are the hours of operations for OCEAN2000?

OCEAN2000 serves Breakfast between 7am – 11am, Lunch Monday through Friday between 11:00am – 4:00pm, and Dinner Sunday through Thursday between 5:00pm – 10:00pm, open until 11:00pm on Friday and Saturday. We offer Brunch on Saturday and Sunday between 11:00am – 4:00pm.

Can we make reservations at OCEAN2000?

Yes, reservations can be made on our website using the Resy.com link or by calling 954-556-7667. The lounge is first come, first serve seating.

What is a hospitality fee?

A hospitality fee is a set percentage added to every guest food & beverage check. The total amount of the hospitality fee is the property of the restaurant which helps pay for labor and benefits for all employees. The service team is paid an hourly wage and a commission.
