I just wanted to pass along some words of gratitude. I cannot thank Jean-Marie enough nor can I adequately express how impressed I was with the level of customer service she and her team provided throughout our meetings at the Pelican Grand February 2-4, 2016. She was always accessible, which over the years I’ve found is very rare, even compared to 4 and 5 diamond hotels. Usually, it’s right after the banquet manager checks in with me to make sure everything is going well, that something comes up that I need assistance with. Well, at the Pelican Grand, I only had to call or email Jean-Marie and she or someone from her staff would provide us with assistance right away. The customer service and can-do attitude demonstrated by Jean-Marie and the staff at Pelican Grand was amazing and it made our meeting and stay there very enjoyable. Also, there was a gentleman who assisted with setting up our group’s meeting space. I believe he works on the banquet team, whose first name is Angel. He was awesome, too. He assisted me in troubleshooting AV issues I was having with the projector and made himself available to assist in any way in order to ensure our meeting went smoothly. Angel went above and beyond and it was appreciated.
Thanks to the terrific staff at the Pelican Grand and the fantastic customer service that they provided, if we ever plan to have another meeting in the Fort Lauderdale area, we will strongly consider having our meeting at the Pelican Grand!

The Retirement Research Foundation (RRF) held its annual meeting at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort last Thursday and Friday, February 25 & 26. All in all, we had nine board members, five staff, and several guests in attendance.
I am writing to tell you how impressed we were with the Pelican Grand. From the personnel working the front desk to the valet staff, everyone was welcoming, cheerful and efficient. We reserved two-room, ocean front suites for our guests which they enjoyed tremendously. The rooms were comfortable, well-appointed, and extremely clean.
We had breakfast and lunch served both days during the meetings, and the food was excellent. I apologize that I don’t have his last name, but Chaz, the catering manager, provided a great deal of attention to our group. Each morning, he introduced me to the member of the catering staff who would be working with us. Both Francisco and Étienne were very attentive and made sure that our every need was taken care of. I received many compliments on both the food and the service.
I began working with Jean-Marie Pierrette, the Pelican Grand’s Conference Services Manager last fall, and I want you to know how extraordinarily helpful she was throughout the entire process. We have three in-house and one offsite board meeting each year, and it’s my responsibility to make sure the meetings run smoothly. If truth be told, I am probably a high maintenance client because I want to be certain that every ‘i’ is dotted and every ‘t’ is crossed. It’s difficult to abdicate control and rely on someone else to handle arrangements the way that I would. However, this was not a problem with Jean-Marie, who was helpful beyond description. She was patient with my never-ending barrage of questions as well as with the rooming revisions I had to make each time our board members’ schedules changed. Once we were onsite, Jean-Marie went above and beyond to assure that we were satisfied. Jean-Marie is a tremendous asset to your resort, and you are truly fortunate to have her on staff.
RRF has held its board meeting in three different locations since 2014 and, because of the wonderful service provided by Pelican Grand staff at every level, I believe we may have found a place that we can return to without hesitation.

I wanted to take this opportunity to send this positive recommendation for Jean-Marie Pierette and her staff during our ITRA Global Conference April 8 – 10. It is very unusual that our conferences go off without a glitch, especially at the start and so it is with pleasure that I send this report.
My assistant and I arrived at the hotel on Thursday afternoon prior to the conference starting on Friday morning. A very welcomed and lovely tray arrived shortly which included a bottle of wine! Such a nice treat after our flight!
I am happy to say that Jean-Marie met us the first thing on Friday morning and within a few minutes, my assistant and I knew that we would be able to relax and know that Jean-Marie would be able to take care of anything that came up. Due to windy weather, we had to move a couple of our outside functions to the inside and Jean-Marie and her staff were able to re-direct our group without any problem at all.
I’d say Jean-Marie is a keeper!
All in all, the entire hotel staff was very efficient and met our requests in a very timely manner. We had a wonderful conference and as relaxing a stay as possible considering it was work-related!
I want to thank you and your staff for exceptional service during our event on January 14-16, 2014. I want to pay special compliments to you, Amanda McNeely, and Ricardo Gasparrini for adding tremendous value to our guests’ experience while at the Pelican Grand Resort. I look forward to working with you again for future events and building our business partnership.

Hi Joseph, I cannot tell you how pleased everyone was with the event, despite the rain and change in space, it was a great success. We probably had 67-8 people which was amazing with the weather conditions. Those who couldn’t attend were turned back by weather and traffic conditions out of Miami on #95. Your banquet people were exemplary….Chaz and his crew helped me in every way they could to rearrange tables and chairs for the smaller space. I wish every hotel I worked in would have that quality of banquet staff. Angel was especially nice, but they all were. I will be by there again, for a Happy Hour and to sit in those welcoming rocking chairs overlooking the beach. I will call you when I can get by.
